Rūmene manor, located in the scenic Abava river valley region just over an hour’s drive from the capital city of Riga, it is the perfect place for a special private getaway with family and friends and an ideal venue for events.
The estate is about 100 hectares, including 5 renovated buildings for guests, a meticulously maintained 7-hectare English-style park, a private lake, a 9-approach golf course (3 greens, 9 different approaches), woodlands and farmland.
This Baltic-German estate, dating as far back as 1331 as fief of the Livonian Order, was purchased in 2004 by a Latvian-American family. They began the herculean task of restoring the rundown estate with aim of merging salvageable historical elements with contemporary design features and amenities. The restoration was a labor of love and showcases the hidden potential of the Latvian countryside, providing an unparalleled example how history, luxury and nature can be harmoniously and tastefully fused.
At the heart of the estate is the Main Manor House built originally in 1876 in the neo-Gothic style. It features elegant dining rooms, sitting rooms and an inspiring show kitchen. It has two split-level suites and two cozy attic rooms. The Main House is available to guest who book the entire estate for their private event.
The quaint two-story Garden House features three large rustic suites with wonderful views of the surrounding park and a separate shared kitchenette and living room area with a fireplace and a private terrace. Nearby, the Stables contain five luxurious two-story apartments, each with a spacious upstairs bedroom and downstairs living room with floor-to-ceiling windows providing beautiful views of the estate grounds. Each Stable apartment has a separate entry with a private outside sitting area.
The Art & Event Barn is the latest edition to Rūmene Manor. This former 3000 square meter cow barn was renovated in 2019 and offers several options for private events up to 120 guests. Originally built in 1913, its bold new contemporary design by renowned Latvian architect Zaiga Gaile is breathtaking, but also seamlessly blends with its picture-perfect surroundings.
