Villa Clara - A Palatial Residence in the Heart of the Eternal City

A hidden jewel, located in the heart of Rome near Villa Borghese, Villa Clara is a sumptuous historic estate that sets a new standard for luxury accommodation in the city. The story of the property began right before the start of the First World War. The idea to build this architectural beauty was conceived by an engineer Adolfo Sebastiani in 1910s. He took a large part in the development of the area that would come to be later known as the elegant Quartier Sebastiani, but among all his projects Villa Clara would remain the grandest and the most impressive.

Originally, he commissioned an architect Oriolo Frezzotti to build the Villa, but unsatisfied with the initial project, he entrusted it to another famous architect, Arnoldo Foschini, who reimagined and completed it by 1929. The result was a Liberty-style building heavily influenced by Greco-Roman architecture, surrounded by a classical Italian garden. Afterwards, Villa Clara became a primary residence of a wealthy noble Italian family for several decades. Nowadays, the Villa has been carefully renovated, preserving its external and internal structure as well the historical elements of decor. Reimagined in Art Deco style, the extravagant interiors will dazzle anyone. Over 1000m2 of marble, semiprecious stone surfaces, including rare amethyst wall panels, sourced from Madagascar and Ural, and a vast art collection are hidden behind the historical 1920s facade.
